Comedy PR

PR for comedians and comedy shows

In 2014, comedy reviewer and author of ‘The Cult Guide To British Comedy’, Julian Hall, made the ‘poacher turned gamekeeper’ move from journalist to PR. With a little black book full of contacts, and a business card (like a small cardboard website) featuring not one but two Marvin Gaye puns, he launched Textual Healing PR.

Since then, he has built a reputation as “an incredible PR and genuine human being” and a glowing track record of success promoting acts taking shows to the Edinburgh Fringe and on UK tours.

PR clients past and present include: Geoff Norcott, Ian Smith, Laura Lexx, Spencer Jones, Sam Nicoresti, Olaf Falafel, Pierre Novellie, Bella Hull, Milo Edwards, Rebecca Humphries, Rosalie Minnitt, Chris Cantrill, Chelsea Birkby, Alex Kealy, Ed Patrick, Sarah Roberts and Robin Morgan.

We put funny people in the press.

Whether you’re promoting a tour show, plugging a podcast, publishing a book, or just want people to know your name, Textual Healing PR helps you get noticed.

Raise your profile in the media and put your best, and funniest, foot forward in interviews, podcasts, authored pieces and TV appearances.

Ian Smith 2025/26 Tour: Foot Spa Half Empty.

Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Award nominee, Ian Smith (Live at The Apollo, Have I Got News For You, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown) has extended the UK tour of his acclaimed new show, Foot Spa Half Empty, an hour of shouting into the wind about everything he’s stressed about - big and small. Only this time the wind answers back.
